Magically Delicious

Magically Delicious

Magic & Mayhem Series

Lucky Charms are not the only thing that is Magically Delicious
Eccentricities abound in Assjacket, WV and I wouldn’t want it any other way.  Ms. Peterman brings us another ‘bang your head’ hilariously funny story in this latest addition to the Magic and Mayhem series.  With lines like, “HoHos were deliciously destructive”, you know you are in for a non-stop redonkious read.
Technical/Formatting:  I read the book in the Mobi/Kindle version and found no issues with the formatting.
Story Line:  While some of the story line was a little out there that is what makes Ms. Peterman’s books so great so I am only deducting one Bookgasum for this.
Character Development: Zelda and all of the other characters are well developed and feel as if they are real. You can really come to love or hate the characters which to me is a true sign of how well written the characters are.
Grammar and Other Nit Picking: I found only a few spelling error and they were not so bad as to stop the story flow.
I cannot wait the next book in this series and in Ms. Peterman’s other series.

Venom and Vanilla

Venom & Vanilla
Book One of the Venom Trilogy

“Which monster do you want to become?”
This new trilogy is full of action with a touch of humor and a lot of creativity.  It is the first adult paranormal book I have read that brings in the old Greek gods along with the shifters and vampires.  I found myself singing/humming “Super Trooper” by ABBA while reading the book due to the non humans being called ‘Super Dupers’ by the main character.
The story flowed effortlessly with me only stopping to research a few Greek gods as I have forgotten most of those stories.  I didn’t find many if any spelling, grammar, or formatting (Kindle version) errors.  I couldn’t put this book down and the end came too quickly for me.  I cannot wait to see what Ms. Mayer’s has in store for Alena and the Super Dupers next.

Vampyres, demons, a baboon named Blobbityflonk, Candy Land and marathon closet sex.

Fashionable Dead and Wed
Book 7 Hot Damned Series

Vampyres, demons, a baboon named Blobbityflonk, Candy Land and marathon closet sex.
Now that is the way to start a book

Oh, by the way, did I mention that Steve Perry is a unicorn. Its true because Mother Nature said so.
I know, right.  It just blows the mind.  Ms Peterman starts the book with a bang and just keeps it going throughout the entire story.  There is humor, mystery, family drama, and love.  All the bases are covered in this story.

I laughed and I cried.  Let’s face it I went through many tissues through the last third of the book.  Most were happy tears but there was that one time where they were tears of fear and worry.  If you are needing a positive, upbeat love story for the ages then this is a book for you.

Even with the fast pace of Ms Peterman’s stories she is able to draw the reader in with her vivid descriptions and her wonky, yet realistic characters.  There was a electronic formatting issue in the beginning of the Kindle version I read but that just gave me a chuckle.  No real spelling issues but there were numerous added or wrong words that made me have to stop reading and re-read the sentence a few times to figure out what was going on.  Due to the number of these errors I have had to give the book only 4 bookgasums.

I enjoyed the story and was glad to see the wedding take place.  I cannot wait for the next installment to find out if the other members of the Royal family can be saved and to find out what a half Hellhound and half baboon will look like.

Ash

Ash
Book 6
Shannon Mayer
4 Bookgasums
Ash takes place between Windburn and Rootbound and is told though Ash’s point of view.  I had a hard time getting into this book because I knew how it would end but I kept on reading and I am glad that I did.  You will be able to feel the love and devotion Ash and Peta have for Lark and it will lift your spirits, I promise you.
I read this as a Kindle and found no formatting errors.  Likewise, there were little to no spelling, grammar, or punctuation error to hinder my reading enjoyment.  Again, Ms Mayer delivered an amazing story with a lot of twist and turns.  She answered questions but threw all new questions at us.  There are new characters such as Norm the yeti.  There are emotional tsunamis that left me sad and then had me laughing.  I cannot wait to read the next installment, Spirit Sown.  But first I am going to go re-read the series to see what else I might have missed the first read through.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.  I have also purchased the book because I enjoyed it and wanted to add it to my collection of this series.  I think the fact that I purchased the book, even though I already had a copy speaks to how well I enjoyed the book and the series.

Book 2 in the Rylee Epilogues

‘Hang on to Your Panties’
This is a must read for fans of either/both of Ms Mayer’s
Rylee and the Elemental series.
Within the first few pages I was emotional thinking about those poor little ogre babies and then again when we learn what is going on with the dragons and those sweet babes.  The gang thought they had saved the world from total destruction but did they really or is the end just starting?
I found no formatting errors (Kindle version) and honestly I was so caught up in the story that I don’t remember if there were any grammar issues.  I was able to read the book straight through without interruption which for me gives the book a higher rating.
Ms. Mayer draws you into her world with rich backgrounds and complex characters.  With each chapter and each book you can see the characters grow and sometimes get tore down from all that life has thrown at them and yet they keep going.  Rylee and the gang weave their way into your heart and their joys and sorrows become yours.
I look forward to many more stories from Ms. Mayer and cannot wait to see what world she has in store for us in the future.

No Were to Run

If ‘asscanoe’ offends you, then this is not the book or author for you.
Ms. Peterman’s sense of humor will have you laughing out loud or banging your head against a wall. Heck, you might just do both. Along with action and humor there are many, many new colorful words to learn. Make sure to include them in your next conversation with a co-worker or loved one.
There were a handful of grammar issues but they didn’t seem to slow down my reading or my enjoyment. I read this story on a Kindle and had no formatting issues. Overall I would say the book is solid and there should be no major issues to give you a technical headache.
I did end up with a crying headache by the end of the book but every touching, crying scene was from tears of happiness. Ms. Peterman really knows how to draw you into the characters and their world. I cannot wait to spend time with everyone in Hung and I am especially looking forward to see how Sandy handles Hung’s naught sheriff.

Rootbound

RootBound
Shannon Mayer
4.5 Bookgasums
25 years after Lark’s banishment in the desert, the mother goddess again has a mission for her.  Once again, Lark is thrown in a race against Blackbird.  Who will win?  Will the mother goddess again protect her favorite, Blackbird?  This is just part of what takes places in this newest adventure in the Elemental series. (This story picks up right after the Rylee book  “Blood of the Lost”).
Another book full of action, adventure and even heartbreak so be prepared to bite your nails one minute and then reach for a tissue the next.  Not sure how much more Lark can handle but I will sure be tuning in to find out.  With only a few books in the series left I am wondering how Ms. Mayer will spin the few remaining stories.  My fingers are crossed that there may be a happy ever after to this series without any of my favorites dying.
I read this as a Kindle and found no formatting errors.  Likewise, there were little to no spelling, grammar, or punctuation error to hinder my reading enjoyment.  Again, Ms Mayer delivered an amazing story that drew me in right from the start.
I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.  I have also purchased the book because I enjoyed it and wanted to add it to my collection of this series.  I think the fact that I purchased the book, even though I already had a copy speaks to how well I enjoyed the book and the series.
