Unassailable

Unassailable
Cynthia St Aubin
Pirates, parrots and ghosts
Ms. St. Aubin continues the hilarious story of Dr. Matilda, adding pirates, ghosts and even ghost hunters to this funny and delightful story.  The ending left me wondering about Matilda’s mother and wanting to dive into the next adventure.
The story’s flow was a nonstop ride.  I have seen growth in the writing and grammar throughout this series.  From the get go the characters have seemed alive and the stories always draw me in and leaving me wanting to reach for the next book in the series.

Humpty Dumpty is a god of gods, Goldy Locks is a porn star, and the 3 bears are hit men
My husband asked me what I was reading so intently that I didn’t hear him the first time he asked me.  I told him Humpty Dumpty was banging Goldy Locks while the 3 bears listened.  My husband just shook his head, mumbled something and walked away.  Only Ms. St. Aubin can give you that sort of ammo to use on someone who is bothering you while you are reading.
I would say the author does an exceptional job of drawing the reader into the story.  Ms. St. Aubin has a great imagination and ability to take characters from mythology and fairytales and create an inventive, humorous, and suspenseful story.  With each new book in this series, I am becoming more and more a fan and I cannot wait to continue with the next book in the series.

Through the Fire

Through the Fire
Michelle Irwin
I would consider this a YA book and I usually don’t read them because of the ‘teenage drama’.  I am glad that I did read it as it was so beautifully written.  From the first page I was caught up in the story.  Who was Evie?  What was Evie?  Will R.A.I.N. and their hatred catch her?  I had to keep reading to find out.
The character development was fantastic and had me wanting to reach out and just show Evie that someone was there for her.  Ms. Irwin writes extremely well and is very descriptive which allows the reader to be drawn into the book.  Well done, Ms. Irwin.  I know we will be seeing more of you in the future.

Morning sickness, a blackmailer, and the reindeer want a dental plan
I loved the return of so many characters in this final book of the series.  I was worried I would cry, but thankfully that was not the case.  This final book answered all questions I had from the series, even how the tato mens came to be.

The character development was well excellent and I was able to be pulled into their world and become a part of it.  Grammar and word usage have advanced since the start of this series.  I am looking forward to the next series from a great author.  Well done, Ms St Aubin.
